Metropolis: The Image of New York in American Art, 1893–1945
de Young, San Francisco, June-September 2008

This travelling exhibition explores the evolution of some of the major New York City-related themes and iconography, depicted in paintings, drawings, photographs, film, and objects of popular culture. The exhibition is curated by Timothy Anglin Burgard, the Ednah Root Curator of American Art, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
